Suzuki updates its DR-Z lineup

The Suzuki DR-Z has been in continuous production since 2000. This year, Suzuki introduces the ‘new and improved’ DR-Z at EICMA.

The DR-Z will continue to be available in dual-sport and supermoto versions. Dubbed as the DR-Z4S for the dual-sport, and DR-Z4SM for the supermoto version, both bikes are now Euro5+ compliant, and has a revised frame with twin-beam upper structure, along with KYB suspension adjustable for both rebound and compression.

On the electronics side, both the “S” and “SM” now feature ride-by-wire throttle with three engine maps, adjustable traction control, and ABS, which can be deactivated on the rear wheel for the SM and on both wheels for the S.

The other differences between the two models naturally involve the wheels – 21” and 18” on the dual sport, both 17” on the supermoto – and the front brake disc, which is floating and larger in the case of the SM. Both models also share the same 398 cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, dual ignition engine mated to a five-speed transmission with slipper clutch, delivering 38 ps at 8,000 rpm and 37 nm at 6,500 rpm. The curb weight is 151 kg for the S and 154 kg for the SM.

Is it coming to the PH?
