Aprilia unveils limited-edition Tuono V4 X
Aprilia has an answer to track-focused superbikes like the Ducati Superleggera, Yamaha R1M, and BMW HP4 Race: their newest, limited-edition, track-only superbike, the Tuono V4 X. Without the need for street legal requirements, this special model has the light weight and immense power to go up against track-only special editions.
The Tuono V4 X is powered by a 65Ëš, 1,077cc V-4 that produces a claimed 221 hp (224 Ps) and can reach speeds in excess of 300 kilometers per hour. The Aprilia Tuono V4 X is also pretty light, weighing only 166 kilograms. It's even lighter than a Honda CBR250, which tips the scales at 177 kg.
The Tuono V4 X also boasts of MotoGP-inspired wings to keep the bike on the ground during high speeds.
It's fitted with a top-shelf Brembo braking system, a suspension package from Öhlins, and carbon fiber and aluminum components to make this one of Aprilia’s lightest literbikes.
Aprilia plans on releasing only 100 units of the Tuono V4 X, with an SRP of €34,900 or roughly ₱2.030 million.
With the Tuono V4, Aprilia seems deadset at taking on the limited, track-focused products of its competitors. The specs and performance figures are quite close.
For comparison, the Yamaha R1M produces 200 PS from a 1.0-liter inline 4, and is capable of reaching 300 km/h and above. However, it weighs 202 kg. The Ducati Superleggera can produce up to 237 PS from its 1.1-liter V4 and weighs 159 kg, easily reaching speeds above 300 km/h. BMW's HP4 Race makes 215 Hp from its 1.0-liter inline 4, weighs just 146 kg, and can also easily go beyond 300 km/h.
For those who can afford, the only question that remains is, "Which will it be?"
