KTM saved by Bajaj
KTM is delighted to announce that it is out of the frying pan. Bajaj—a multinational company from India that has been a long-standing partner of KTM through its entry-level motorcycles below 450cc—has loaned the Austrian company a total of EUR 600 million. KTM says Bajaj has now become its “significant investor.”
“Today we have been given the opportunity to continue the history of KTM. Together with our long-standing partner Bajaj, we were able to work out a strategy that will enable us to raise a further 600 million euros for our new start in addition to the 200 million euros already made available,” said KTM AG CEO Gottfried Neumeister.

Of the fresh EUR 650 million loan, EUR 450 million is granted to KTM AG. An additional amount of EUR 150 million is granted to PIERER Mobility AG, which passes on the required balance to meet the quota payments to the KTM companies.
Neumeister also said that the company’s existing sites, particularly the main plant in Mattighofen, would remain fundamental to its future success, which signifies its continued role as a significant employer for the entire region.
Regarding this new opportunity, KTM expressed deep gratitude and humility towards all those within and outside their group who had made it possible. Neumeister also took the opportunity to thank Stefan Pierer on behalf of all those who had accompanied them, acknowledging that he laid the groundwork for one of the world’s most recognizable motorcycle brands, which fostered a unique community.
With the restructuring proceedings concluding in June 2025, Stefan Pierer will step down from the Executive Board of PIERER Mobility AG. Subsequently, Verena Schneglberger-Grossmann, who has been with the group since November 2015, has been appointed by the Supervisory Board as the new Chief Legal Officer on the Executive Board of PIERER Mobility AG, working alongside CEO Gottfried Neumeister.
