BMW Motorrad PH launches the new R 12 and R 12 nineT
In 2013, BMW Motorrad presented more than just a classic-style roadster, it was a combination of design and modern technology with high craftsmanship and customization options. Today, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation – the official importer and distributor of BMW Motorrad in the Philippines – is excited to present the next evolution in the BMW Motorrad Heritage world: the new BMW R 12 nineT and the all-new R 12.
Classic roadster and classic cruiser
For the new BMW R 12 nineT, the guiding principle during its development was the “Spirit of nineT”, with the goal of seamlessly following in the footsteps of the successful R nineT and carrying forward its archetypal look, timelessness, and high customization qualities. While the new R 12 nineT as a classic roadster aims to make a stylish impression in urban environments as well as provide dynamic riding fun on winding country roads, the all-new R 12 comes under the motto “The Spirit of Easy” – perfectly embodying a classic cruiser for cool and relaxed riding.
Highly customizable
The new R 12 nineT and R 12 combine the authentic and beefy character of the boxer engine and the design language of traditional motorcycle eras with innovative technology and a modular concept that offers the rider maximum customization options. Reduction to the essentials and attention to detail were key priorities in the development of the design, resulting in a strong emotional appeal.
Modern technology meets purity
Both the R 12 nineT and R 12 models are equipped with ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), engine drag control, hill start assist, cruise control, heated grips, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), keyless ride, smartphone connectivity, headlight pro with lean-sensitive lighting, and shift assist.
As for riding modes, the new R 12 nineT features 3 riding modes: Rain, Road and Dynamic, while the all-new R 12 features 2 riding modes: Roll and Rock. There’s also the 3.5-inch digital horizontal display (analog instrument cluster as standard), a USB-C and a 12-volt socket for charging your electronic gadgets.
Availability
The all-new BMW R 12 will be available here in the country starting at PHP 1,215,000 (Adventurine Red), while the Option 719 variant will sold at PHP 1,315,000 (digital cluster).
On the other hand, the new BMW R 12 nineT will be available in 4 colorways: Black Storm Metallic, San Remo Green, San Remo Green Metallic and Option 719 Aluminum. Price starts at PHP 1,375,000.
Both the R 12 nineT and R 12 models come with BMW Motorrad’s 5-year or 500,000-kilometer comprehensive warranty.
