Honda E-VO now available in China
Honda in the Philippines has offered countless models that left a mark among Pinoy motorcycle enthusiasts. In the electric scooter/motorcycle segment, however, Honda PH has yet to offer a model that is both competitively priced compared to Chinese offerings and practical for the daily commutes of Filipinos.
In China, Honda and its joint venture partner, Guangzhou Wuyang Motorcycle Co., Ltd, unveiled the E-VO electric motorcycle in May, now available in showrooms with a price tag that starts at only CNY 29,999 or roughly PHP 236,000.
Fast charging, dash cam-equipped
The E-VO electric motorcycle is available in two distinct variants: the Dual-Electric and the Three-Electric version.
The Dual-Electric variant, priced at CNY 29,999, is powered by two 74V lithium-ion batteries, offering a claimed range of 120 kilometers on a single full charge. While the exact number of 74V batteries for the Three-Electric version isn’t specified on the website, this variant (CNY 36,999 or roughly PHP 290,000) boasts a significantly longer battery range of 170 kilometers.
Both E-VO versions can be conveniently charged using a standard household socket or the common AC charging port found in many supermalls for electric vehicles. Charging times are impressive, with the Three-Electric version achieving a full charge in just 1.5 hours when connected to a standard AC charger.
Other features of both versions include front and rear disc brakes with ABS, inverted fork, 7-inch TFT screens with smartphone and DJI camera connectivity, front and rear dash cam, Wilink global intelligent architecture, full-LED lighting, traction control, TPMS, and charging ports for electronic devices.
We’re genuinely impressed by its big bike neo-retro design cues and features, many of which are absent in many of the flagship motorcycle models available locally. We certainly hope to see the E-VO introduced to the Philippine market soon.
