A dedicated team of BMW Motorrad employees recently brought their collective passion for motorsports, design, and the brand itself to life through an extraordinary project: the creation of the BMW R 1300 R TITAN.

This unique motorcycle was meticulously crafted by Project Manager Philipp Ludwig, Vehicle Designer Andreas Martin, Color and Graphic Designer Theresa Stukenbrock, and Prototype Builders Paul Summerer and Thomas Becker, who all infused their expertise and dedication into its development.
The resulting BMW R 1300 R TITAN is a striking machine—brute, aggressive, yet beautiful and extraordinarily precise, built with a singular focus on winning. Its design seamlessly integrates the core styling elements of the new BMW R 1300 R, transforming them into the aggressive lines characteristic of a sprint racer.
The distinct contours of the R 1300 R’s tank and fairing are reimagined in the monocoque typical of racing bikes, while the standard model’s prominent air duct panel further exaggerates the TITAN’s dynamic presence. Visually, the motorcycle’s weight appears concentrated over the front wheel, designed to maintain traction during fierce accelerations.
Compactly built around its powerful 1300cc boxer engine, the motorcycle’s overall proportions evoke a predatory cat, poised to sprint even at a standstill. Its striking graphics, set against a forged carbon-fiber base, capture an impression of movement with a modern, clean interpretation, complemented by metallic blue accents.
Performance and Precision Engineering
Long-standing BMW Motorrad partner, AkrapoviÄ, played a crucial role in the TITAN’s development, collaborating to design a comprehensive titanium exhaust system. This system not only enhances the custom bike’s powerful character visually, but also audibly with the exhaust flowing from both cylinders briefly converging, and then exiting through a boxer-style, two-flow outlet beneath the aggressively rising rear end.
The TITAN maintains a low profile, supported by a specially manufactured, hard-tuned Wilbers chassis featuring a long swingarm. This setup ensures that none of the series-production engine’s formidable performance is wasted.
Yes, that's a nitrous oxide bottle between the dual exhaust pipes
For an additional burst of power, an aggressive-looking nitrous oxide bottle is strategically placed between the two titanium rear silencers. At the touch of a button, it injects nitrous oxide into the injection system, catapulting the rider and machine towards the finish line. Once activated, the surge of power translates directly to the tarmac via the transmission and shaft drive.
Precision is key, with gears slotting into place flawlessly and the Magura HC3 brake lever providing robust deceleration after the finish line. Ergonomically, the footrests are extended far to the rear, offering its rider the necessary support during sprint races.
