D.I.D Philippines joins IPOPHL in campaign against fake motorcycle parts
D.I.D Philippines Inc. has partnered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to strengthen efforts against counterfeit motorcycle products through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Signed on July 27, 2026, the agreement formalizes a collaboration between the two organizations to raise consumer awareness, protect intellectual property rights, and encourage riders to purchase genuine D.I.D products only from authorized dealers.
The initiative comes as counterfeit motorcycle parts remain a persistent problem in the market. According to D.I.D Philippines, fake D.I.D products sold through e-commerce platforms and physical stores cost the company an estimated PHP 200 million in lost sales annually.

Beyond the financial impact, the company said counterfeit products also pose serious risks to consumers. Unlike genuine components, fake motorcycle parts may not meet the same standards for quality, durability, and performance, potentially compromising a motorcycle’s safety and reliability.
Through the partnership, D.I.D Philippines and IPOPHL will work together to help consumers identify authentic D.I.D products, understand the risks of counterfeit parts, and make informed purchasing decisions. The initiative also seeks to discourage the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods while promoting a fair and trusted marketplace.

D.I.D Philippines said the agreement reflects its commitment to ensuring customers receive the quality, performance, and reliability that genuine D.I.D products are known for. The company also thanked the IPOPHL team for its support and shared commitment to protecting intellectual property rights and Filipino consumers.
Specific initiatives under the partnership have yet to be announced. Both parties said the collaboration is intended to strengthen consumer awareness and reinforce efforts against counterfeit products in the local market.
Consumers who wish to report suspected counterfeit D.I.D products may coordinate with the brand or file a report directly with IPOPHL.
