Yamaha T7 Tenere concept to preview new enduro bike?
It appears Yamaha is looking to introduce a new motorcycle that can take on long desert rallies. Called the T7 Tenere, the concept motorcycle features a Dakar Rally-inspired finish and design that sits on a very tall frame.
Immediately apparent on the T7 is the Dakar-inspired exterior. The concept heavily draws from the Yamaha WR450F Dakar-spec bike with its carbon fiber fairing and skid plate. It also features a large capacity aluminum fuel tank, eye-catching quad-projector LED headlight and staggered wheels: 21-inches at the front and 18-inches at the rear.
At the heart of the T7 Tenere concept is the 700cc parallel-twin engine derived from the MT-07 naked motorcycle. For its application in the T7, Yamaha expects the concept to have an output of 75 PS and a curb weight of 180 kg.
If the concept bike does go into production, it will likely become the successor of the Yamaha XT660 Tenere dual-sport. The production version of the T7 could arrive in 2018.
