LTO adds Saturday hours for motorists who can’t miss work

For motorcycle riders who rely on daily income, taking a day off to transact with government agencies can mean losing a day’s pay.

That’s why the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is giving these workers another option by opening five licensing offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) every Saturday. The selected offices will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Saturday, with the schedule continuing until further notice.

The move could be particularly helpful to motorcycle riders, as well as other motorists working in delivery, transport, and other jobs where income depends on the number of days they spend on the road, or those who simply cannot afford to skip work during weekdays.

LTO Assistant Secretary, Markus Lacanilao, said the Saturday operations are part of the agency’s effort to make its services more accessible to the public.

Marami sa ating mga motorista ang may trabaho at iba pang obligasyon mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes, kaya nais nating mabigyan sila ng pagkakataong makapag-transact sa LTO kahit araw ng Sabado.

(Many of our motorists have work and other obligations from Monday to Friday, so we want to give them the opportunity to transact with the LTO even on Saturdays.)

The five LTO offices offering Saturday services are:

  • LTO Parañaque City Licensing Branch (PITX)

PITX 2nd Floor, 1 Kennedy Road, Tambo, Parañaque City

  • LTO San Juan Licensing Center

2/F LTO San Juan District Office Building, 1 North Domingo St. corner F. Blumentritt, San Juan City

  • LTO Valenzuela Licensing Extension Office

2/F ARCA Plaza Building, Maysan Road, Valenzuela City

  • LTO Valenzuela District Office

ARCA Plaza Building, Maysan Road, Maysan, Valenzuela City

  • LTO Quezon City Licensing Center

LTO Main Compound, Barangay Pinyahan, East Avenue, Quezon City

The additional operating hours are also expected to help reduce the number of clients visiting LTO offices during weekdays and improve service times.

Lacanilao also reminded the public to transact directly with official LTO offices and avoid fixers. The public are likewise encouraged to report any irregularities directly to I-report mo kay LTO Chief portal.
