New H-D bagger racing coming soon at MotoGP
Harley-Davidson and MotoGP have announced their collaboration, set to ignite the racing world with a brand-new global series launching in 2026. This partnership will bring the iconic American motorcycle manufacturer into the MotoGP, showcasing a unique racing format centered around modified versions of the Harley-Davidson Road Glide.
The series is slated to feature 12 races, strategically incorporated into six Grand Prix events across both Europe and North America. This ensures maximum exposure to MotoGP’s extensive global audience. Competing riders will pilot meticulously race-prepared Road Glide motorcycles, developed by Harley-Davidson Factory Racing.
These machines are engineering marvels, weighing in at approximately 280 kilograms and generating a formidable output that exceeds 200 horsepower. This power translates to blistering speeds, with the bikes expected to reach over 300 kilometers per hour on the track.
A key element of this racing series is its focus on close competition. To achieve this, all participating teams will utilize identical motorcycles, eliminating any potential advantage from varying machinery. The grid is projected to consist of six to eight teams, with each team fielding two riders, creating a dynamic and competitive field.
This partnership marks a huge step for Harley-Davidson, allowing them to demonstrate the performance capabilities of their machines on a world stage. For MotoGP, the inclusion of an American manufacturer and a unique bike style adds a new dimension to their racing events, potentially attracting a broader fan base.
