New Fastport eQuad announced by Honda
Honda has announced the establishment of Fastport, a new B2B venture from its New Business Innovation Lab, aimed at transforming the last-mile delivery industry. Fastport will make its global debut at Eurobike in Frankfurt, Germany, happening on June 25-29, showcasing the Fastport eQuad prototype and its Fleet-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform.
The Fastport eQuad is a zero-emission, all-electric quadricycle designed for use in bike lanes, enabling efficient and reliable urban goods delivery. Powered by Honda Mobile Power Pack (MPP) swappable batteries and featuring software-defined vehicle (SDV) capabilities, the eQuad seeks to address urban congestion and the growing demand for faster deliveries. Honda projects initial vehicle deliveries to begin in late 2025 in Europe and North America, with mass production slated for summer 2026 at the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio, USA.
Combining cutting-edge technology with a modern design, the eQuad features a pedal-by-wire pedal-assist powertrain and easy-to-swap, rechargeable batteries, offering a quiet, powerful, and emission-free riding experience. It incorporates energy-saving technologies like regenerative braking and prioritizes rider comfort with a canopy, ventilation, and a chassis designed for smooth navigation on varied surfaces.
Fastport will offer various vehicle and cargo box sizes to meet regional customer needs, with a modular design allowing for customizable lengths for diverse delivery requirements. The eQuad’s bike-lane compatibility aims to reduce traffic congestion in urban areas.
Jose Wyszogrod, General Manager of Fastport, stated that the eQuad is a “zero-emission alternative to delivery vans that solves the challenge of last mile urban logistics,” reflecting Honda’s commitment to sustainable mobility. The comprehensive Fastport FaaS platform also offers software-defined features, including battery swapping, maintenance plans, and AI-powered fleet management dashboards.
