Honda announces 2025 model year Grom 125
In June 2023, Acerbis – a manufacturer that specializes in aftermarket parts and accessories – has set a new world record for distance traveled in just 1 full tank of fuel. This 4,183-kilometer feat was made possible by putting a specially designed 108-liter fuel tank on a Honda Grom 125.
This feat, to put it in Pinoy's perspective, is equivalent to equivalent to traveling roundtrip from Manila City Hall to Davao City Hall, and then back again to Davao.
For 2025 model year (MY), Honda updates the Grom.
The updated ‘25MY MSX125 Grom is ready to roll into dealers, with redesigned bodywork and new paint options. Pared down, with a more mass-forward stance and knee cutouts, the MSX125 Grom’s new fuel tank covers have a newfound, more aggressive attitude echoed by restyled side panels and a new sporting undercowl.
And, influenced by customers’ ongoing efforts to make their bikes unique, the MSX125 Grom is designed around the concept of adaptability and easy customization. The bodywork remains easy to detach and now offers more surface area for an owner to express individuality with the application of stickers, graphics, or wraps. The Grom logo now takes pride of place up front.
Further enhancing the lovable Grom’s versatility, for the first time, a range of Honda Genuine Accessories will be available, including hand guards, meter visor, saddle bags, a rear carrier and a rear seat bag.
The fundamentals underpinning the Grom’s enduring appeal remain unchanged – compact size, charming looks and high levels of specification and equipment. The easy-to-read compact LCD digital instrument panel includes a rev counter and gear position indicator, alongside the speedometer, twin trip meters, fuel gauge and clock. IMU-controlled disc braking provides an extra layer of riding confidence. The gold finish to the 31mm inverted front forks stands out in bright contrast to the blacked-out engine, exhaust, wheels and swingarm.
The charm comes with enjoyable performance and outstanding fuel economy. The 125cc, SOHC 2-valve air-cooled engine maintains usable, real-world performance, driving through a 5-speed gearbox for relaxed long-range riding and returning an incredible fuel economy of 65.7 kilometers per liter. The tried and tested chassis continues to employ its 12-inch wheels in combination with the inverted suspension to offer big-bike suspension control and handling qualities in a diminutive footprint.
The 25MY MSX125 Grom will be available in the following color options: Candy Blue, Pearl White and Matte Black Metallic.
According to Honda, the word ‘grom’ is an American slang for young board sports enthusiasts, whether surfboarding or skateboarding. Additionally, the UK, Germany and France are the 3 biggest Grom markets in Europe, accounting for more than half the total European sales. The Grom is one of three ‘minibikes’ available from Honda, alongside the retro Dax and Monkey models.
