Svartpilen 801 officially launched by Husqvarna
2 weeks ago, Husqvarna confirmed that the Svartpilen 801 project will proceed and will be launched shortly. Staying true to their word, Husqvarna Motorcycles officially launched the Svartpilen 801 last night.
790 Duke-based
Like with many bike models under Pierer Mobility’s stable, the new Svartpilen 801 is also based on a KTM model, the 790 Duke. The Svartpilen 801 has the same 799 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine that powers the 790 Duke, with the same power output of 105 PS and 87 Nm of torque.
The new Svartpilen also uses a chromium-molybdenum steel frame with the engine as stressed member, which is the same in the KTM 790 Duke.
Other features
The new Svartpilen 801 features a Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC), quick shifter, traction control, riding modes, adjustable WP Apex suspension, a pair of Pirelli MT60 RS dual-sport tires, full-LED lighting, 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, and many more.
Weighing at just 181 kilograms, the Svartpilen 801 is approximately 7 kilograms lighter than the 790 Duke.
Availability
While the worldwide availability of the new Svartpilen 801 is scheduled for this coming April, our friends at KTM/Husqvarna PH say that we might expect the new Svartpilen 801 to become available by the end of this year or Q1 of 2025.
