All-new Kawasaki KLE500 launched
Kawasaki just dropped the bomb (pun intended) with its newest entry-level adventure bike, the KLE500. In the US, the KLE500’s SRP starts at US$ 6,599, with the “Special Edition” retailing at US$ 7,499. That’s roughly PHP 387,000 and PHP 440,000, respectively.
Making a comeback
The Kawasaki KLE500 began its run 34 years ago, serving as the company’s initial contender in the entry-level adventure bike segment. Production concluded in 2007, with its legacy carried on by the subsequent KLE650, the bike we know today as the Versys 650.
Making its comeback for the 2026 model year, the all-new Kawasaki KLE500 is powered by a 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin EFI engine, which is the same powerplant found in the Ninja 500. It produces a claimed 51 PS and 42.6 Nm of torque.
However, given its adventure-focused nature, Kawasaki is expected to have refined the engine’s torque curve and power delivery to better suit off-road and mixed-terrain conditions.
Other features designed to excite today’s adventure riders include a slipper clutch, selectable ABS, full LED lighting, a digital display with smartphone connectivity, a rally-style tower, KYB inverted forks, a 16-liter fuel tank, handguards, an aluminum skid plate, and more, all aimed at delivering both capability and comfort on any terrain.
Additionally, the new KLE500 rides on a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, which is a clear statement of intent from Kawasaki. This setup signals that the bike is purpose-built for serious off-road performance, positioning it squarely against rivals like the CFMOTO 450MT and KTM 390 Adventure R.

Naturally, Pinoy adventure bike enthusiasts are eager to know when the new KLE500 will arrive in the country, as it’s poised to be a strong contender against CFMOTO and KTM’s offerings. As of now, the KLE500 is “not in the pipeline,” so KMPC has yet to release any official SRP or launch details. Still, we remain optimistic, hopeful that the new KLE500 will make its way to Philippine shores just in time for the 2026 edition of the FJMOTO Mountaincross Adventure, where it can prove its mettle in the ultimate test of an adventure bike—Pinoy style.
