CORLEO four-legged mobility concept announced by Kawasaki

Just a few days before the Lenten Season break, Kawasaki unveiled its latest concept mobility vehicle that’s straight out of a Sci-fi movie: the four-legged CORLEO.

According to Kawasaki, the CORLEO is a personal transport vehicle—much like a robot pony—that aims to blend the joy of off-road motorcycling with advanced robotics.

Kawasaki also says that the CORLEO incorporates the handling and stability of their motorcycles in its design and operation, with its front featuring a facia similar to a sportbike fairing.

Interestingly, the CORLEO’s power source is a 150cc engine, similar to those commonly found in many underbone motorcycles. However, in a departure from conventional fuel, this engine is designed to burn hydrogen, using the energy to generate electricity. This electricity then drives the individual electric motors responsible for the movement of its four independent legs, offering a novel and environmentally conscious approach to off-road mobility.

While the CORLEO is presently a “concept” only visualized in CGI, its design challenges the traditional notion that motorcycle riding pleasure is exclusively tied to two wheels, hinting at a future where personal mobility could take on entirely new and engaging forms, circling back to the good ol’ fashioned horseback riding.
