Shell Mekaniko League 2025 concludes, crowns national champions
Shell Pilipinas Corporation has concluded the Shell Mekaniko League 2025, the country’s largest nationwide mechanic competition to date. For the first time, the program united both car and motorcycle mechanics under one platform, drawing more than 2,000 participants from 26 provinces.

The competition, which ran from March to September, held 20 Shell Advance Masters regional runs for motorcycle mechanics and six Shell Helix Auto Mekaniko Champions runs for car mechanics. From these stages, participants underwent Shell-led training sessions and TESDA-certified modules aimed at preparing them for NC I and NC II certifications. Semi-finals tested mechanics through written exams, parts identification, and live repair challenges that mirrored real-world scenarios.
At the Grand Finale in Pasay City, Mark Anthony Calimag of Quezon City was named 2025 National Champion for Shell Helix Auto Mekaniko Champions, while Charlie Sandoval of Caloocan City took the Shell Advance Masters title. Both champions received PHP 200,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Malaysia to witness MotoGP. Semi-final winners earlier received PHP 50,000 each, while the top car and motorcycle finishers also secured MotoGP slots alongside the champions.

Shell said the program goes beyond competition, providing training and recognition to uplift livelihoods and improve industry standards. TESDA officials added that initiatives like the Mekaniko League contribute to the professionalization of Filipino mechanics and help prepare them for the evolving demands of the automotive sector.
Launched in 2024 with just five regional runs, the Mekaniko League expanded into a full-scale national program this year, positioning itself as a platform that celebrates skill while strengthening the local auto and motorcycle service industry.
