1,108 motorists have been suspended or banned by the LTO
Social media is turning out to be one of the LTO’s biggest allies in going after erring motorists. At a time when almost everyone has a smartphone or dashcam recording what’s happening on the road, reckless drivers, especially those who engage in road rage, are finding it much harder to get away unnoticed.
Together with its continuing enforcement operations, the LTO says it has now suspended or revoked 1,108 driver’s licenses since October 2025. That’s 278 more than the 830 licenses the agency had suspended or revoked as of last month.
“Ang pinakamahalagang sukatan ng ating kampanya ay hindi ang dami ng lisensyang nasususpinde o nababawi, kundi ang pagdami ng mga motoristang sumusunod sa batas. Nananawagan tayo sa lahat na pairalin ang disiplina, paggalang sa kapwa, at responsableng pagmamaneho sa bawat biyahe,” said Lacanilao.

According to the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID), 618 motorists have had their driver’s licenses revoked, while 490 others were handed suspensions since October 2025.
Of those who lost their licenses, 102 were permanently disqualified from driving, while 476 received a two-year revocation, 32 were barred for four years, and 8 for one year. Among those issued suspensions, 336 were sidelined for three months, 105 for one year, 37 for one month, 11 for six months, and one driver for seven months.
The agency also reported that between June 11 and July 4, 2026 alone, it revoked 184 licenses and suspended 94 more, bringing the total to 278 motorists penalized in just over three weeks. The LTO said the figures reflect its continuing effort to crack down on serious traffic offenders.
The lesson here is pretty simple. Drive responsibly, obey traffic rules, and don’t let your emotions get the better of you. One bad decision can cost you your driving privileges, and for those who drive for a living, your livelihood.
