Motorcycle manufacturers report sales increase in 2025
The Philippine motorcycle industry has sustained its rapid growth, with a new report from the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) showing a significant increase in sales for the second quarter (Q2) of 2025. Total sales reached 910,923 units, a 4.8% increase from the 876,074 units sold during the same period in 2024.
This sustained upward trajectory highlights the continued demand for two-wheeled vehicles in the country, largely driven by their affordability, efficiency, and effectiveness in navigating urban congestion.

“Filipinos continue to see two-wheeled vehicles as a practical solution to daily commuting challenges,” said Alex Cumpas, President of MDPPA. “Their affordability, fuel efficiency, and ability to weave through heavy traffic make them an essential choice for urban mobility.”
The report’s data, which compares Q2 2025 figures against Q2 2024, shows key shifts and sustained dominance across various categories. The Automatic/Scooter segment continues to lead in model sales, reinforcing its position as the preferred choice for many commuters.
The industry remains optimistic about continued growth throughout the year, projecting an overall 5% increase for 2025. This positive momentum is supported by factors such as the ongoing economic recovery, the continued need for personal mobility, and the accessibility of financing options.
“We remain optimistic about the continued growth of motorcycle sales in the Philippines, driven by strong consumer demand, expanding delivery and mobility services, and the consistently growing appeal of motorcycles as a cost-effective personal transport option across both urban and rural areas,” says Toni Boi Acuesta, the MDPPA’s Marketing Committee Chairperson.

The MDPPA, which includes leading manufacturers like Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and TVS, actively works to address industry gaps in road safety, regulation, environmental protection, and technology. One of its recent initiatives is the Tropang MAALAM campaign, which promotes rider safety through education and training.
