MMDA riding school now on its 2nd year
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) – Motorcycle Riding Academy (MRA), has celebrated its second anniversary in Pasig City, carrying the theme “Two Years of Safe Riding: A Success of Cooperation and Discipline.”
According to MMDA Deputy Chairman, Usec. Frisco San Juan Jr., the academy continues to champion road safety by providing both theoretical and practical training to motorcycle riders. The program aims to help reduce the number of road accidents involving motorcycles by instilling proper riding discipline and awareness.
The MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy offers a 2-day basic motorcycle riding course covering topics such as basic road emergency response, traffic rules and regulations, motorcycle parts orientation, control and operation, and fundamental riding skills.
During the celebration, several partner agencies and groups participated in activities promoting responsible and safer riding. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) conducted on-site driver’s license renewal services, while various educational booths offered learning resources and safety tips for riders. Merchants also showcased riding gear and accessories, while attendees enjoyed action-packed gymkhana demonstrations and test-ride sessions.
The event was attended by representatives from the LTO, major motorcycle organizations, and ride-hailing companies such as Angkas, Grab, and Move It, all of them showing support for MMDA’s continuing effort to strengthen rider education and promote road safety.
Now in its second year, the MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy stands as a key initiative in fostering a culture of discipline and cooperation among riders, ultimately contributing to safer roads for all.

Documentary requirements for the participants include photocopies of Driver's License or Student Permit (if available, but not necessarily a requirement); Certificate of Employment (if employed); a medical certificate/health declaration; and a waiver.
