QJMOTOR SVT 650 X seen in this year's Silk Way Rally
Now in its 14th edition, the 2024 Silk Way Rally will take racers to a 5,243-kilometer cross-country route, including 2,992 competitive kilometers, connecting five regions of the Russian Federation: Tomsk, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo Regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Altai with the regions of Western and Central Mongolia and Gobi.
For QJMOTOR, this will also be the perfect opportunity to test its latest adventure bike offering in real-world cross-country rally conditions: the SVT 650 X.
SVT 650 X
The SVT 650 X is one of the new adventure bike offerings from QJMOTOR. This adventure bike is powered by a 650cc V-twin capable of producing 71 PS of power and 62 NM of torque. For comparison, Suzuki’s V-Strom 650, also with its V-twin engine, produces 66 PS of power and 60 NM of torque.
It has inverted forks, Brembo braking system, ABS, full LED lighting, and a large TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. Philippine availability and pricing will be announced soon by our friends from QJMOTOR Philippines.
Silk Way Rally Adventure Trophy
For the second consecutive year, the Adventure Trophy category will be featured as part of the International Silk Way Rally. This category is designed for riders who are not yet ready to compete in the sports standings but who wish to test their abilities and bikes in serious off-road conditions and become part of a world-class rally.
Adventure Trophy competitors are invited to cover the entire distance of the Silk Way Rally along the selective section following sports crews. Amateur riders are not competing alone; they are riding in teams of two or three. One team member is an experienced instructor who is able to provide advice, teach complex riding techniques, and assist in difficult situations.
In 2024, four teams participated in the Adventure Trophy category of the Silk Way Rally, each with one instructor and two riders. The teams compete with each other in terms of the speed with which they complete a selective section. A successful finish is only counted if two team members complete the stage and meet the standard announced in advance at the same time.
So far, the GS Rally Team, led by Evgeniy Pyatigorsky, leads the Adventure Trophy after five grueling stages. Closely following are the BigBoxer Team led by Stanislav Chvizhenko and QJMOTOR Team.
