San Miguel boss promises to open SLEX expansion this December
Motorists who frequently use the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) can now feel a sign of relief as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) head, Ramon S. Ang (RSA), said that the additional 2 lanes on both northbound and southbound lanes will be operational this coming December, easing the traffic flow, especially for those who are traveling to their families in the provinces to celebrate the holidays.

“This December, as our countrymen prepare to celebrate Christmas and travel more to spend time with friends and family, they can look forward to a wider, better SLEX. This will help in significantly reducing traffic buildup during the Holiday rush,” said RSA.
The 29-kilometer at-grade expansion between Susana Heights in Muntinlupa to Calamba, Laguna, is proceeding right on schedule, said SMC.
“The SLEX expansion is a major undertaking that entailed significant effort and investment, and a lot of patience and cooperation from motorists and stakeholders. We are very glad that motorists can soon enjoy faster trips to and from Southern Luzon,” added RSA.
SMC also added that SLEX’s expansion construction works will be completed by Q2 of 2025. In 2022, the company also implemented the Seamless Southern Tollways project which reduced the number of stops motorists had to do when traveling along Skyway, SLEX and STAR tollways.
