Spyder brings safety and style to the forefront at this year's Makina Moto Expo

A homegrown brand with more than 15 years in the outdoor and lifestyle segment, Spyder returned to the Makina Moto Expo with a renewed focus on safety, design, and rider engagement. Known for its distinctly Asian fit, the brand offered a wide range of motorcycle and cycling helmets, as well as performance eyewear, combining technical features with accessible pricing.

During the event, Spyder’s participation went beyond a traditional product showcase. The company positioned its presence as a platform to connect more deeply with the riding community, emphasizing innovation, purposeful design, and a clearer brand direction. Visitors to the booth were presented with a mix of new releases that integrated advanced safety features with bold, modern styling, allowing riders to express individuality without compromising protection.

Among the highlights was the Spyder x Ghost Fighter Series, a collaboration inspired by the iconic anime Yu Yu Hakusho, locally known as Ghost Fighter. The collection tapped into the strong cultural connection many Filipino riders had with the series, which became a phenomenon in the late 1990s.

By translating familiar characters such as Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara into helmet designs, Spyder blended nostalgia with modern-day riding gear, appealing to a market largely composed of adults who grew up watching the show.

The lineup also included updated models such as the Spyder Sigma, Hex 3, Edge, and the hybrid NEO Ace 2, all equipped with globally recognized safety certifications like ECE 22.06 and DOT. Complementing these were offerings from MT Helmets, further reinforcing Spyder’s commitment to delivering internationally compliant protective gear.

Beyond products, Spyder aimed to re-energize riding culture through interactive activities, limited-edition releases, and brand collaborations.

As the local motorcycle scene continued to evolve, the company signaled its intent to remain at the forefront by supporting safer, more expressive riding experiences for Filipino riders.
