Honda updates the Transalp with e-clutch for 2026
About 3 years ago, Honda introduced its e-clutch system to motorcycles. Basically, the system uses actuators to move the clutch release assembly as a rider would when they pull the clutch lever.
Now, Honda equips its middleweight adventure bike with the e-clutch, starting with the Transalp 750.
“The adventure category’s popularity continues because riders want motorcycles that can truly do it all. With the addition of Honda E-Clutch to the Transalp, we’re making that experience even more intuitive and approachable,” says Colin Miller, Manager of Experiential Marketing at American Honda.
According to Honda, the Transalp is the first adventure model to feature e-clutch, which offers the convenience of clutch-free starts and shifts while retaining the direct engagement of a traditional manual transmission. This advancement enhances accessibility without compromising rider control, ensuring the bike remains equally suited to daily commuting, long-distance touring, and off-pavement exploration.
Honda adds that its 2026 Transalp blends versatility, capability, and long-distance comfort for adventure riding. Its new e-clutch, paired with throttle-by-wire, delivers smooth shifts and precise low-speed control on pavement or dirt.
An aluminum skid plate adds protection and style, while fully adjustable suspension lets riders tailor performance to any terrain. With comfortable ergonomics and close to 17 liters of fuel capacity, the Transalp can be a practical and capable companion for adventure enthusiasts.
Currently, the “regular” Transalp is available here in the PH, with an SRP of PHP 609,000. The PH availability of the e-clutch version will be announced soon by Honda.
