Vespa Primavera, Vespa Sprint S get 2026 refresh with new tech, Elettrica options
The 2026 Vespa Primavera and Vespa Sprint S have been unveiled, bringing a mix of design refinements, new technology, and improved safety to two of Vespa’s most popular models.
Headlining the updates is a significant upgrade in braking. For the first time, 125cc and 150cc “small body” Vespas now come equipped with a rear disc brake, replacing the long-standing drum setup. Paired with the front disc and ABS, the new system aims to deliver stronger and more consistent stopping power.
Both models also receive subtle but noticeable styling tweaks. New 12-inch wheels with a five-split-spoke design give the scooters a fresher look, while the Sprint S adds a sportier touch with a redesigned grille on its side fairing. Inside, a new full-LCD instrument panel replaces the traditional display, offering clearer ride information along with smartphone connectivity via Vespa MIA.
Convenience is likewise improved across the range. Keyless operation is now standard on versions above 50cc, allowing riders to start the scooter, access the seat compartment, and locate the bike without taking the key out of their pocket.
Vespa Elettrica
Powertrain options remain varied. Buyers can choose from 50cc (not available in PH), 125cc, and 150cc fuel-injected engines, but Vespa is also continuing its push toward electrification. Both the Primavera and Sprint S are also available in Elettrica variants, featuring removable batteries for easier charging, particularly useful for urban riders without dedicated charging access.
With compact dimensions, an all-steel body, and a wide range of color and accessory options, the updated models stay true to Vespa’s design roots while adapting to modern mobility needs. The 2026 Primavera and Sprint S are now available in Piaggio Group showrooms. PH availability to be announced soon.
