Vespa Officina 8 Edition unwrapped by Piaggio

Piaggio has launched the Vespa Officina 8 Special Edition—a collection inspired by the brand’s prestigious Experimental Department (Officina 8) where the iconic scooter was first conceived.

This new range, featuring the Vespa Primavera and Vespa GTV Officina 8, embodies the atmosphere of the post-war workshop in Pontedera, where visionary technicians, many from the aeronautical industry, which shaped Vespa’s timeless design and groundbreaking prototypes.

The Officina 8 was the “secret” heart of Piaggio, where masterpieces like the 1950 Vespa that set 17 world records and the legendary “98 Corsa” were crafted. Identified by a coveted ‘Piaggio 8’ pin, these skilled professionals blended cutting-edge technology with unparalleled Italian craftsmanship, ensuring each vehicle was unique.

The new edition boasts an exclusive Blu Officina 8 matte metallic finish, an intense industrial blue that evokes the workshops of the past.

This striking color contrasts with elegant satin-finish metal accents in aluminum and brass, decorating elements like the shield, wheel rims, and steering cover grille. Polished brass rivets on the dual-upholstered saddle further honor tradition, while the Vespa GTV Officina 8 includes a rigid body-colored cover for a sportier look. Matte black details and bar-end mirrors complete the design.

Each Vespa Officina 8 comes with a special welcome kit, including a book detailing the Experimental Department’s history. Also, an accompanying apparel and accessory collection, featuring a top box, jet helmet, gloves, and workwear-inspired clothing, perfectly complements this unique tribute to Vespa’s heritage.

Philippine availability and pricing to be announced soon by AutoItalia—the official local distributor of Piaggio products in the country.
