Trip to ‘Middle Earth’
Just recently, Itchy Boots Philippines, in partnership with Paradise Motorcycle Tours took 12 Pinoy riders (including couples) on an 11-day, 2,049-kilometer tour around New Zealand’s South Island. New Zealand, as a whole, is often referred to as ‘Middle Earth’ due to its being the film location of the Lord of the Rings trilogy some 20 years ago.
This guided tour took the Pinoy contingent to Christchurch – South Island’s largest city – and around to beautiful destinations Hanmer Springs, Punakaiki, Franz Josef, Queenstown, Te Anau, Milford Sound, Mount Cook, and back to Christchurch.
One of the highlights of this tour was the helicopter trip around Mount Cook and landing on one of the glaciers.
The New Zealand tour, which starts at NZD 11,000 or roughly PHP 376,000, already includes airport transfer to Christchurch, all accommodations during the tour proper, breakfasts, guides, support vehicle, and farewell dinner at the end of the tour.
Customers also have a choice of what motorcycle to ride on during the trip, from a BMW F 750 GS up to R 1300 GS.
