Silencio Expeditions takes 40 Filipinos on an epic Himalayan motorcycle tour

There’s a new motorcycle tour company that offers Pinoy adventure riders a chance to take their passion beyond the usual corners of the Philippine map.

Silencio Expeditions, a new venture organized by FJ Moto Enduro, Enduro Adventure Philippines, Grit, Amorr, The Lost Boys and the rest of the Piratas, is now offering organized motorcycle tours in Mongolia, the Himalayas, Thailand and Georgia. The group says Morocco and several European destinations are already in the pipeline.

While organized motorcycle tours are common in countries with established adventure-riding cultures, there are relatively few Philippine-based groups offering this kind of international riding experience. Silencio aims to fill that gap.

The company’s first international expedition recently took a large Filipino contingent to the Himalayas in India, with 34 riders and six pillion riders spending eight days riding across the Ladakh region.

The trip brought together one of the largest groups of Filipino riders to tackle the region, taking them through its high-altitude roads, changing terrain and dramatic Himalayan scenery.

Silencio’s international adventures didn’t stop there. The company currently has five Pinoy riders taking part in an ongoing motorcycle tour in Mongolia, another destination that has become a favorite among adventure riders around the world.

According to the group, even its name reflects what it hopes riders will experience on these trips.

The company said that “Silencio” refers to the silence that surrounds an adventure rider once the ride begins. Away from the noise, worries and responsibilities of everyday life, the focus becomes much simpler, as there’s only the motorcycle, the road and the people sharing the journey.

That philosophy is also what separates Silencio from the usual weekend ride. Instead of simply bringing riders to another local destination, the group wants to give Filipinos the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most iconic adventure-riding routes from the saddle.

With Mongolia and the Himalayas already on its roster, and Morocco and Europe waiting in the wings, Silencio Expeditions is looking well beyond the usual Philippine riding map.
