Allen Millyard’s one-off 8.0L Viper V10 motorcycle finds new owner for nearly PHP 10M
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if someone stuffed a Dodge Viper engine into a motorcycle and actually made it road legal, British engineer Allen Millyard answered that question years ago. Now, his outrageous creation has found a new owner.
Millyard’s one-off Viper V10 motorcycle was sold at auction in the UK for GBP 130,000, or roughly PHP 9.9 million based on current exchange rates.
The price isn’t surprising considering this isn’t just another custom bike. It’s widely regarded as one of the most famous hand-built motorcycles ever created.
The star of the show is the engine. Instead of a conventional motorcycle powerplant, Millyard built the bike around an 8.0-liter Dodge Viper V10, the same engine that powered Chrysler’s legendary American sports car. The naturally aspirated V10 produces around 500 horsepower, or more than three times the output of today’s most powerful production superbikes.
Building the motorcycle wasn’t as simple as dropping a car engine into a custom frame. Millyard engineered the bike from the ground up, creating custom front and rear subframes that bolt directly to the massive V10 engine, which effectively serves as the motorcycle’s main structural component.
Despite its size, the motorcycle isn’t just a garage ornament. It’s fully road legal in the UK, has logged more than 14,500 km, and has even exceeded 320 km/h in testing. In 2023, Millyard and TV presenter Henry Cole also used the bike to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest tandem motorcycle over a standing-start mile, reaching 295 km/h.
