New BMW F 900 GS ready for next year's FJMMA
BMW Motorrad has always been credited as the one responsible for introducing and popularizing adventure bikes with the introduction of the BMW R 80 GS in 1980. By definition, adventure bikes are dual-purpose motorcycles that are capable on both highway cruising and off-road use – which are basically unpaved roads or tracks in the remote regions of the globe.

Now, owing to the popularity of newer middleweight adventure bikes that are more off-road capable than ever, BMW has introduced the F 900 GS, which was recently launched in the country with an SRP of PHP 1.135 million. BMW has also launched the F 900 GS Adventure with an SRP of PHP 1.295 million and the new F 800 GS with an SRP of 995,000.
FJMOTO Mountaincross Adventure-ready
For the past 3 years, the 3-day FJMOTO Mountaincross Adventure (FJMMA) have become the ultimate litmus test of both the rider and his adventure bike due to the level of difficulty that the challenge offers.
For BMW Motorrad PH, they are hoping to see the new F 900 GS in action at next year’s FJMMA.
“We hope to see the F 900 GS in action at the 2025 FJMOTO Mountaincross,” said Archie Garcia, Motorrad Manager - RSA Motors Libis. BMW Motorrad PH is the official presenter of this year's FJMMA.
For starters, the new F 900 GS is 14 kilograms lighter than the F850 GS it replaces. It utilizes a plastic fuel tank which saved 4.5 kilos compared to the steel fuel tank of its predecessor.
The F 900 GS also features a completely redesigned rear section which makes it look even more dynamic and saves around 2.4 kg of weight. A further 1.7 kg are saved thanks to the AkrapoviÄ exhaust system.
Other notable features of the F 900 GS include the Enduro Pro package, narrow seats, enduro footpegs, hand protectors, riding modes, a 6.5” TFT screen, a multi-function holder, 21” front and 17” rear wheels, off-road tires, and many more. The weight: 219 kilograms, fully fueled and ready to ride.
