BMW Motorrad PH introduces the R 1300 GS Adventure
It was during the BMW Motorrad Days 2024 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen when the all-new R 1300 GS Adventure (GSA) was unveiled to the public for the first time, and it quickly drew crowds with its robot-like styling and features that are new to a BMW adventure bike.
Staying true to their word, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the exclusive distributor of BMW cars and motorcycles in the Philippines, presents the R 1300 GS Adventure to the Pinoy rider, SRP: starts at PHP 1,895,000.

First, the obvious: the bodywork. If we compare the 1300 GSA to its 1300 GS brother, we might think that they do not belong to the same model lineup. The 1300 GSA’s exposed 30-liter aluminum fuel tank was designed to help improve the bike’s ergonomics and act as an additional carrier with mounting points for soft luggage—further emphasizing that this new adventure bike was designed for extended days on the road.
Speaking of extended days on the road, BMW Motorrad engineers also developed a new sheet metal frame that offers better rigidity than the previous model, while the lattice-tube aluminum subframe is designed to carry lots of load through its quick-release top box and side pannier holders made of forged aluminum. Also, the windshield height can now be adjusted through an electronic switch.
Then there’s the engine: at the heart of the new R 1300 GS Adventure is the 145 ps, 1,300 cc boxer-twin engine with BMW’s Shiftcam Technology. This new engine which also powers the R 1300 GS, is more compact than its 1250 predecessor thanks to a redesign that has put the transmission under the engine. The EVO Telelever front wheel guide with flex element and the revised EVO Paralever rear wheel guide also provide even greater steering precision and riding stability, says BMW Motorrad.
Other new features found in the R 1300 GS Adventure are adaptive vehicle height control (height is lowered by 30 mm when stationary and at low speeds), adaptive cruise control, and front/rear collision warning (through the use of radar).
No clutch lever
Of course, for the first time ever on a BMW adventure bike, the new R 1300 GS Adventure can be equipped with an optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA). According to BMW Motorrad, the ASA is a technical solution to make motorcycling easier and more comfortable.
The ASA features two modes: D and M. “D” is comparable to a car’s Drive, where all the gear shifting is handled by the system. The “M” mode is for semi-automatic mode, where the shifting is done by the rider through the shift lever on the left footpeg. A clutch lever is NON-EXISTENT in an R 1300 GS Adventure equipped with ASA.
Price and availability
The new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure will be available in 4 variants: Racing Red with an SRP of PHP 1,895,000; Style GS Trophy with an SRP of PHP 1,965,000; while the Style Triple Black and Option 719 Karakorum are priced at PHP 1,995,000 and PHP 2,095,000, respectively.
