The F 450 GS testing spotted
BMW Motorrad has signaled its intention for the entry-level adventure segment when it unveiled the F 450 GS concept bike in November 2024. This bike is clearly designed to supersede the BMW G 310 GS, which, disappointingly, did not meet expectations, particularly in markets like the Philippines.
Earlier this month, the F 450 GS was reportedly spotted undergoing testing near TVS’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, India.

Like the outgoing G 310 GS to the R 1250 GS, the F 450 GS’s design is heavily influenced by the R 1300 GS adventure bike, including the “X” LED headlight and BMW’s signature beak.
The test mule, according to witnesses, was covered in black fabric to hide its details and was rolling on alloy wheels similar to the ones used on the G 310 GS, both with single discs. The inverted forks, most likely sourced from Showa, were also prominent, while the exhaust can was definitely not from Akrapovic.
Still, while the test mule’s styling might not be its final form, the production F 450 GS could potentially echo the design of the R 1300 GS, with its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire wheels—just in a smaller package. This also tells us that the production line for this model could start up really soon.
PH availability
As of this writing, there is still no definite date on when BMW Motorrad will launch the F 450 GS, but our friends in India speculate that it will be out by the last quarter of this year.
The F 450 GS will be powered by a newly developed twin-cylinder engine with a new ignition offset. BMW Motorrad claims that this engine can deliver its full 48 hp and provides superior torque even at low revs.
