MPCALA Holdings recognized with Green Awards for third consecutive year
MPCALA Holdings Inc., the concessionaire of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), has been awarded two Green Awards by the City Government of Santa Rosa. This is the third consecutive year the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) subsidiary has been recognized for its environmental initiatives.
The awards were presented during the Santa Rosa City Green Awards on August 15, 2025, a platform that honors organizations for their outstanding contributions to sustainability. MPCALA received a Plaque of Appreciation as a Sustainable Development Partner, an award recognizing its commitment to environmental conservation through programs like clean-up drives, tree planting, and participation in the annual International Coastal Cleanup.

The company also earned the Earth Hour Advocate Award for its support of the global movement, which encouraged communities along the expressway corridor to participate in switching off non-essential lights to promote energy conservation.
According to Arlette Capistrano, MPCALA Holdings Inc. Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management, these awards affirm the company’s commitment to building expressways with the environment and communities in mind.
“These recognitions are more than just honors; they are responsibilities that we embrace wholeheartedly. These awards affirm the direction we’ve taken in ensuring that our expressways are built with the environment and the communities in mind,” said Capistrano. She also noted that the recognition fuels their motivation to expand sustainability efforts.

The City Mayor of Santa Rosa, Hon. Arlene Arcillas, emphasized that environmental protection is a shared duty, stating that these awards are a celebration of commitment to a greener and healthier future.
MPCALA Holdings continues to advance sustainable practices in its infrastructure, with a vision of being a “green expressway.” The company’s design integrates renewable energy technologies and nature-inspired features that reduce its carbon footprint while enhancing the driving experience. As a subsidiary of MPTC, the country’s largest toll road developer, these accolades reflect MPCALA’s leadership in promoting environmental stewardship throughout its operations.
