H-D and MotoGP Launch first Global Bagger Racing Series
Back in May, Harley-Davidson and MotoGP announced their partnership for a whole new racing series, which is set to commence in 2026. Now, both organizations have officially unveiled the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup—a new global racing series dedicated to high-performance Harley-Davidson bagger motorcycles.
Announced at a press conference at Austria’s iconic Red Bull Ring, the six-round championship is scheduled to debut next year and is expected to bring the unique power and style of American V-Twin motorcycles to legendary circuits across the United States and Europe, creating a new, dynamic spectacle for race fans.
“The launch of the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup signals a bold new era for Harley-Davidson and for the sport of motorcycle racing,” said Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz. “This series is about pushing limits, of our machines, our riders, and our brand, on a global stage. We’re proud to partner with MotoGP to bring this vision to life.”
One-make race
The race bikes are based on Harley-Davidson’s Grand American Touring platform, but will be radically modified for speed, agility, and on-track spectacle. The series is designed to offer a visceral racing experience unlike anything currently on the MotoGP schedule, with its powerful machines and distinctive racing style.
The championship will showcase a fusion of American performance and international competition, starting in the U.S. and moving through Europe’s most famous tracks.
The inaugural 2026 race calendar includes six rounds at some of the world’s most renowned circuits:
Grand Prix of The Americas - Circuit of the Americas (USA): March 27–29
Grand Prix of Italy - Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello (Italy): May 29–31
Grand Prix of the Netherlands - TT Circuit Assen (Netherlands): June 26–28
Grand Prix of the United Kingdom - Silverstone Circuit (UK): August 7–9
Grand Prix of Aragon - MotorLand Aragón (Spain): August 28–30
Grand Prix of Austria - Red Bull Ring (Austria): September 18–20
The series will conclude with its final and title-awarding round at the Red Bull Ring, an homage to Austria’s rich motorsport heritage.
