MPT South welcomes Road Safety Month with Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety

Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) commemorated Road Safety Month by launching its latest road safety advocacy campaign, “Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety,” at a ceremonial event held at the Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City, aiming to foster a safer future on Philippine roads.  

The event drew over 100 stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including representatives from national agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), PNP Highway Patrol Group Region IV-A, Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), and PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC). Local government units from Metro Manila and CALABARZON, including Taguig, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, General Trias, Dasmariñas, Silang, Santa Rosa, and Biñan, were also present.

Major transport and terminal partners, such as the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), One Ayala Terminal, and advocacy organizations like ACTO, attended, along with bus companies like TAS Trans Corp., Erjohn & Almark Transit Corp. Co., Don Aldrin Transport Inc., Saulog Transit, and Jasper Jean Services Inc.; UV groups like DIPTA-MOA, United 12 Corp., TVTAP; modern and traditional jeepney groups like Paliparan 3, Kapit Bisig Transport, PABODA, CAMBIO, and Universal Transport; and the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association Inc., representing the logistics sector.  

Jose Ma. K. Lim, President and CEO of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the crucial role of expressway operators in promoting a culture of safety both on and off their roads. He stated that the campaign was one of MPTC’s many initiatives demonstrating its commitment to road user safety through collaboration with government, private partners, and communities.

Arlette Capistrano, MPT South Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management, led the unveiling of the “Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety” campaign. The Drayberks program, initiated in 2018 and recognized for its effectiveness, including a Bronze Stevie Award at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, aims to educate drivers on responsible driving, expressway rules, pre-trip vehicle inspection, and road discipline.  

Capistrano explained that the “Ready 4 Safety” campaign is aimed at equipping drivers of all classifications with the necessary knowledge and values for safe road navigation.

The event culminated in the recitation of the Drayberks Pledge, led by MPT South OIC Elnora Rumawak, and a symbolic pledge signing by government agencies, transport groups, and local leaders, solidifying their commitment to road safety.

MPT South reiterated its commitment to building a culture of safety and accountability among drivers and communities.

MPT South, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), manages the CALAX and CAVITEX networks and is part of MPTC’s portfolio, which includes concessions for NLEX, the NLEX Connector Road, SCTEX, and CCLEX.
