DPWH to repair EDSA this year

Riding along the stretch of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) is like riding on off-road. Potholes that can damage your motorcycle or car’s alloy wheels and asphalt that has been weathered to a point it became something like a tidal wave from a movie litter the whole stretch.

This year, EDSA will be rehabilitated, according to Public Works Secretary, Manuel Bonoan.

“The President wants to improve the riding quality of EDSA. We will rehabilitate the entire EDSA starting 2025,” said Sec. Bonoan.

He also added that the road condition of EDSA is so bad, that a person who’s sitting inside a vehicle can’t even send a text message. “At present, if you pass through EDSA, it’s difficult for a person to send a text message… So, I think it's about time that we need to rehabilitate EDSA once and for all.”

Though a start and end date, as well as other details of rehab works has not been announced, Sec. Bonoan assured that it will commence this year as it is now one of the major infrastructure projects of the government that will be undertaken in this year.
