V3R 900 prototype unveiled by Honda at EICMA
At last year’s EICMA, Honda unveiled its new three-cylinder engine prototype, featuring a V3 configuration enhanced by an electronic turbocharger. This setup is designed to deliver consistent, optimized power across the entire rev range, combining performance and efficiency in a compact package.
At this year’s EICMA, Honda officially takes the wraps off the V3R 900 E-Compressor prototype, powered by the same V3 e-turbo engine first introduced last year.
According to Honda, the V3R 900 E-Compressor prototype is being developed as a showcase of the company’s innovative and forward-looking technology, embodying the its commitment to create products that exceed customer expectations. Honda also adds that this project is aligned with its 2030 vision of delivering the “Joy of free and fun mobility.”
At the heart of this bike is the 900cc, liquid-cooled, 75-degree V3 engine. While the exact power and torque output has not been confirmed, Honda says that this engine “delivers performance on par with a 1,200cc engine despite its 900cc displacement, while also achieving specifications that enhance environmental efficiency.”
As a working prototype, the V3R 900 isn’t headed for showrooms just yet, but it offers an exciting glimpse of what may come in the near future.
