Brixton Motorcycles developing a 1200cc adventure bike
Utilizing a single platform for several models is an industry-standard in the automotive and motorcycle manufacturing industries. In motorcycles, for example, KTM used its 390 platform across several models 390 Duke, 390 RC, and 390 Adventure. This platform was also used by its subsidiary, Husqvarna Motorcycles, on its 401 Svartpilen and 401 Vitpilen.
For the retro-inspired brand, Brixton Motorcycles, it looks like the company is developing an adventure bike that is based on its Cromwell 1200 platform.

Leaked images online suggest that Brixton’s upcoming adventure bike will use the same platform as the Cromwell 1200 standard bike. The new bike is also set to feature the 1,222 cc, SOHC parallel-twin engine of the Cromwell, as well as the Nissin brake calipers, dual-pipe exhaust and dual spring suspension at the rear.
Where it will differ is the addition of a larger tank – obviously for extended fuel range, wider seat, half fairing and a tall windshield. It will also feature dual-sport tires and wire wheels and an inverted fork. The estimated weight of the upcoming adventure bike from Brixton will be around 230-240 kilos.
