Brusky 125 scooter introduced by Kawasaki
In a 2022 sales report by the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA) – which is composed of the Japanese ‘Big 4’ motorcycle manufacturers Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki – scooters are the favorite type of motorcycle by Pinoys, having a 58% market share (at the time).
As the dominant player in the business model segment, Kawasaki hopes to get a piece of the pie by re-entering the scooter market with the new Brusky 125.
Rebadged Modenas
Modenas is a state-owned motorcycle manufacturer from Malaysia and has been producing the Karisma 125 for a couple of years now. Like its motorcycle models originally manufactured by Bajaj of India, Kawasaki Motor Philippines Corporation (KMPC) has rebadged the Karisma 125 to become one of its own, and it's now marketed as the Brusky 125 here in the country, with an SRP of only PHP 75,000.
Features
The Brusky 125 boasts a modern scooter design, with striking lines that can be quite similar to Honda’s Click 125i. It features a 124.8 cc, air-cooled EFI engine with CVT as final drive. The Brusky 125 also features an all-LED lighting, analog/digital panel gauge, kick starter, 14-liter under seat compartment, 5.1-liter fuel tank, USB charging port, and a 2-piston caliper for the front disc brake.
Availability
As mentioned above, the Brusky 125 will be sold at PHP 75,000 SRP. Kawasaki says showroom deliveries will start late in September 2024. The Brusky 125 will be available in Duchess Gold, Aqua Blue and Mystic Red.
