Ninja 7 Hybrid now available in Japan
It was in 2019 when Kawasaki patented their hybrid design for mass-produced motorcycles. Then, in the 2022 edition of EICMA, the company presented what seems to be the world’s first mass-produced hybrid motorcycle model: the Z 7 Hybrid.
Now, Kawasaki presents the Ninja 7 Hybrid – the world’s first strong hybrid motorcycle.
ICE and electric
The new Ninja 7 Hybrid is powered by both an internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric motor. The conventional engine is a liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder, DOHC 451cc engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This ICE produces 58 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the electric motor produces an additional 12 PS of power and 36 Nm of torque. The juice comes from a 50.4 V battery pack.
Features
According to Kawasaki, the new Ninja 7 Hybrid boasts 3 riding modes: SPORT-HYBRID maximizes the power of the engine and motor; ECO-HYBRID starts with the motor and works in coordination with the engine, and EV which allows quiet driving using only the electric motor.
The new Ninja 7 Hybrid also features a Walk Mode which includes a reverse mode which is especially helpful when reversing from a parking spot.
Other features include ALPF ( Automatic Launch Position Finder ) which automatically selects 1st gear when the vehicle stops, full TFT color screen with smartphone connectivity, all-LED lighting, and ETC2.0 onboard device kit as standard equipment.
Price
The new Ninja 7 Hybrid is now available in Japan with an SRP of JPY 1,848,000 or roughly PHP 692,000 (PH duties and taxes not included). Philippine availability and pricing will be announced by Kawasaki soon.
