CFMOTO Euro distribution ended by KTM, new distributor to be named
News of KTM’s current struggles and its subsequent restructuring to maintain business viability has likely reached you. As part of these efforts to streamline core operations, KTM recently finalized the sale of the MV Agusta brand, returning ownership to the Sardarov family.
Also, as part of its cost-cutting measures, KTM’s withdrawal from the 2025 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship proved to be a critical blow, resulting in the entire season being called off. Adding to these changes, the Austrian manufacturer has also revealed its decision to drop its distribution of CFMOTO products within the European market.
“The past few weeks have been marked by significant changes within the KTM Group. The company will focus entirely on the realignment of its own brands in order to effectively pursue its strategic goals,” says KTM. “As a result, KTM and its long-standing partner CFMOTO have agreed to discontinue KTM’s existing distribution responsibility for CFMOTO and ZEEHO in Europe.”
KTM has clarified that its distribution of CFMOTO in Europe will officially end on May 31, 2025. A new, yet-to-be-announced distributor will then take over these responsibilities starting June 1, 2025. In the interim period leading up to the new distributor’s appointment, KTM AG will remain the primary point of contact for all dealers within the European sales region.
While KTM will stop distributing CFMOTO in Europe, this decision was reached by mutual consent. KTM assured that their existing partnership with CFMOTO, especially their joint manufacturing operations in China, will not be affected. Similarly, CFMOTO will continue its role as the distributor of KTM motorcycles within the Chinese market.
