LTO gives 90-day license suspension on vlogger for dangerous stunt on public road

In a clear message to reckless motorists, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has imposed a 90-day preventive suspension on the license of a rider who performed dangerous stunts on a public road.

The LTO’s social media team was instrumental in identifying the viral video, leading to a prompt investigation and action against the vlogger whose disregard for safety was evident. According to LTO, the rider’s stunts, which involved standing and dancing on what appears to be a CFMOTO 450MT adventure bike while in motion on an expressway, were a clear violation of traffic laws and an extreme threat to public safety.

LTO Chief, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II confirmed that the rider will be facing multiple violations, including Reckless Driving and being classified as an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle. The immediate suspension of the driver’s license serves as an initial penalty and a deterrent against such behavior.

(Whatever angle you look at it, what this rider did is really dangerous, especially since he did it on a public road that could be the cause of an accident and put the lives of road users in danger.)

The legal repercussions also extend to the vehicle’s registered owner, who was issued a Show Cause Order. The owner is required to appear at a formal hearing on August 19 to provide an official explanation for the incident and cooperate in identifying the rider.

The LTO has also proactively placed an alarm on the motorcycle, effectively immobilizing it in terms of any sale or transfer, to ensure that the owner appears before the agency. The official order states that a failure to attend will result in the case being decided without the owner’s input, leading to potential penalties against them.
