Mutt Motorcycles enters administration, closes facility in Birmingham
Earlier this month, it was reported that Mutt Motorcycles—a Birmingham, UK-based motorcycle manufacturer known for its retro-styled motorcycles—has entered into an administration. Its administrator, RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP, stated that the company faced a “period of difficult trading due to a decline in market demand” and that the brand had also faced “significant financial pressures and was unable to secure the necessary funding to continue operating.”
Mutt Motorcycles often feature a “raw” or minimalist design in its bikes, with visible frames, chunky tires, and a focus on customization. Its motorcycles typically range from 125cc to 250cc in displacement, with powerplants sourced from Suzuki.
Unfortunately, Mutt has already closed its King Norton, Birmingham factory, and has put most of the company’s 18 employees at risk of losing their jobs. However, there’s also a possibility of revival, as reports indicate potential buyers are interested in acquiring the remaining stock and the brand itself, which could allow Mutt Motorcycles to continue operating in the future.

Jon Mendiola, General Manager of Mutt Motorcycles Philippines, recently confirmed with MotoPinas.com that the UK headquarters was experiencing significant financial difficulties. While maintaining that Philippine operations were continuing as normal, Mutt Motorcycles Philippines launched a 50% discount sale on their remaining inventory, suggesting potential closure in the country.
