Repsol and Honda to part ways at the end of 2024 MotoGP
For the past 30 years, Repsol – a multi-national oil company from Spain – has become synonymous with the Honda racing team that competes in MotoGP. However, the company will part ways with Honda by the end of the 2024 MotoGP season.
Following Marc Marquez’s exit from Honda last year, Repsol enforced a clause in its contract to reduce its financial support to the team, thus the reason this year’s livery has the “Honda” predominantly painted on the racebike’s fairings.
It was also reported that Repsol wanted to focus its resources on the promotion of non-fossil fuels, and will continue to support MotoGP as a supplier of more sustainable fuels that will be enforced in the coming 2027 season.
The partnership between Repsol and Honda has produced 15 championship titles, 183 victories and 455 podiums.
