New adventure bikes from Rieju unveiled at EICMA
In 2022, Spanish motorcycle brand, Rieju, unveiled its adventure bike lineup which was headlined by the Adventure 500 Legend. Some sources claim that the Adventure 500 Legend’s engine is produced by Loncin – one of the largest manufacturers in China – under technical and license agreements with Honda. This same engine can also be found in Bristol Venturi 500.
During the 2024 edition of EICMA, Rieju levels up its ball game as it introduces two new adventure bikes: the Xplora 557 and the Xplora 707.
Bigger ADV bikes
The Xplora 557 features 17” front and rear spoked wheels, while the Xplora 707 features a bigger 19” front wheel. Both have a seat height of 795 mm and a dry weight difference of only 3 kg: 218 kg for the 557 and 221 kg for the 707.
The chassis setup is identical for both models, featuring a 43 mm inverted fork and a progressively adjustable monoshock with preload adjustment, all by KYB. They also share the same steel multi-tubular frame and Brembo braking system, with dual 320 mm floating front discs and a 260 mm rear disc.
Both models also come with switchable ABS and a 7” color TFT display with Mirror Link technology.
The main difference lies in the engine. The Xplora 557 is equipped with a 554 cc QJ twin-cylinder engine, delivering 47.6 ps and 51 nm of torque, while the Xplora 707 is powered by a Benelli twin-cylinder engine producing 70 ps and 70 nm of torque. The Rieju Xplora 557 and 707 will be available in Rieju dealerships in early 2025.
