Legendary KLR 650 officially in the PH
The Kawasaki KLR650 is a legend of a motorcycle. Introduced in 1987, countless globetrotters have chosen the KLR650 due to its simplicity and robustness. In fact, the US Marines have a fleet of KLR650 motorcycles fitted with diesel engines which saw action in various conflicts around the globe.
Now, after nearly 40 years, Kawasaki officially introduces the KLR650 to the Pinoy rider. The SRP starts at 409,900.

Proven and tested engine
Since its introduction in 1987, the KLR650’s engine has remained largely unchanged. It’s still the same liquid-cooled, 652 cc DOHC engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. Originally, the engine’s output was rated at 36.5 ps of power at 6,100 rpm and 47.7 nm of torque at 4,600 rpm.
With minor engine updates over the years, the 2024-onwards KLR650 – which is manufactured in Thailand since 2001 – now boasts up to 40 ps of power and 53 nm of torque.

According to our friends from Wheeltek, the KLR650 motorcycles that will be available in the PH are the 3rd-generation KLR, all with EFI, ABS, new decals, LCD screen, larger front disc brake, fog lights as standard, and optional panniers.
The KLR650 standard version will be available at Wheeltek for an SRP of PHP 409,900 while the ones with panniers are available for an SRP of PHP 449,900.
