Report traffic violators through LTO's Aksyon on the Spot

Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, is calling upon motorists to help the agency with the enforcement of traffic laws through its “Aksyon on the Spot” hotline.

The idea is, according to Mendoza, motorists and other road users can act as some sort of force multipliers of the LTO by sending pictures of traffic violators to the agency’s Aksyon on the Spot. The LTO will then send a Show Cause Order (SCO) to that vehicle’s registered owner and address on file.

“Let’s say, you saw an out-of-line or colorum jeepney. Just take a picture that includes the passengers and the place, because that will be the evidence. Then send it to our Aksyon on the Spot and it is open 24/7,” said Mendoza.

Mendoza admitted that the LTO is a bit short-staffed. With the entire country as its area of responsibility, enforcing traffic rules can sometimes be difficult for the agency. As such, the LTO Chief encourages everyone to use Aksyon on the Spot to report unruly drivers and other traffic violators.

Mendoza also adds that all reports go straight to the LTO Head Office’s Command Center, where they will be sorted out for proper disposition and immediate action by the regional offices.
