LTO welcomes Atty. Martin Ontog as its new Executive Director

It’s rare to see a true motorcycle rider at heart in key government posts like in the Land Transportation Office (LTO). But now, we finally have one. Yesterday, Atty. Martin Ontog took his oath as the LTO’s new Executive Director, and shortly after, reaffirmed his commitment to public service before LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao.

“The LTO extends its warmest congratulations to Atty. Ontog and is looking forward to his leadership in further strengthening the agency’s commitment to efficient, transparent, and people-centered public service,” said the agency in a statement.

Unbeknownst to many, Atty. Ontog is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys riding whenever his schedule allows.

As Executive Director, Atty. Ontog will help ensure the LTO runs smoothly by coordinating offices, overseeing daily operations, and assisting the LTO Chief in implementing policies. While the Chief sets the agency’s direction, he focuses on carrying out plans efficiently, keeping public services running effectively, and, when authorized, representing the LTO in meetings, briefings, and other official functions.

Atty. Ontog succeeds Atty. Greg Pua, Jr., who served as the agency’s Executive Director since June 2024.
