Jonny Walker and Sam Sunderland represent Triumph at the Red Bull Romaniacs
Triumph Motorcycles has prepared for a significant test as riders Jonny Walker and Sam Sunderland gear up for the 2025 Red Bull Romaniacs, running from July 22–26 in Romania.
This event, widely recognized as the world’s toughest hard enduro rally, will push both the athletes and their machines through the demanding terrain of the Carpathian Mountains.
As of this writing (Day 1 Off-road), Sam Sunderland leads the Adventure Lite Class with his Tiger 900 Rally Pro, finishing the 130 km day 14 minutes ahead of Joop Nissink on the Tenere 700. In third place was Colombian, Daniel Fernandez, riding a CFMOTO 450MT.

Triumph says that the duo has tackled the Adventure categories aboard their near-standard Tiger 900 Rally Pro adventure bikes. Jonny Walker, from the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team, has competed in the Adventure Ultimate class, leveraging his extensive experience as one of the race’s Gold Class former champions.
Two-time Dakar Rally champion and Triumph Motorcycles brand ambassador, Sam Sunderland, makes this as his official Triumph race debut in the Adventure Lite class.
This year’s Red Bull Romaniacs presents a unique challenge for Walker, who is accustomed to the event’s intense Gold class, as he aims to prove both his and the Tiger 900 Rally Pro’s capabilities in a new context. For Sunderland, this marks a pivotal moment to test the Tiger 900 Rally Pro in one of the planet’s most formidable off-road environments.

The 2025 Red Bull Romaniacs has already kicked off on Tuesday, July 22 (Tuesday afternoon Manila), with a city prologue in Sibiu, and will be followed by four brutal days of off-road racing.
Competitors will navigate a mix of rocky climbs, riverbeds, dense forest sections, and high-altitude trails. With two world-class riders on production-based adventure motorcycles, the event offers a compelling demonstration of the Tiger 900 Rally Pro’s real-world performance in extreme conditions.
