Triumph unleashes the Thruxton 400 in India
Following the successful Philippine launch of its pocket-sized, expressway-legal Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in early 2024, Triumph has continued to expand its 400cc lineup.
In May of this year, the manufacturer released the new Scrambler 400 XC in the Indian market, a model designed as a tribute to the 1,200cc Scrambler XC. Its 400cc range is still evolving, with the company recently launching the Thruxton 400, again, in India. This new cafe racer is the fourth 400cc model to be introduced, rounding out the brand’s accessible lineup.
Shared platform
Built on a shared platform, the new Thruxton 400 is equipped with the same 398cc TR-series single-cylinder engine as its 400cc siblings. This engine delivers a strong performance with 40 ps of power and 37.5 nm of torque. This new model also utilizes the same frame and suspension as the other 400cc models in Triumph’s stable.
Staying true to its classic design roots, the Thruxton 400 stands out with its authentic café racer styling, including a front cowling, low-slung handlebars, and bar-end mirrors. The bike’s vintage aesthetic is completed with a Monza-style fuel cap, a bullet seat, and a retro-inspired paint job.
Philippines when?
With the Scrambler 400 XC and Thruxton 400 already out in India, the next question is: when will they land here in the Philippines, and how much? Well, we’ve asked our friends from Triumph Motorcycles Philippines, and they said that if all goes according to plan, these bikes will probably land sometime in Q4 of this year, with a very promising SRP that shouldn’t go past PHP 400,000.
