Is the Kawasaki Z H2 HE coming to the PH? Or is it just a new model update for the ZX-10R?
The Philippine motorcycle market has been quiet these past few weeks, with Bristol Motorcycles being the exception. The brand has bucked the trend by launching its new KOVE lineup, which features scooters and flagship adventure bikes.
Kawasaki may be preparing a significant new release. Recent government documents have surfaced, suggesting that a new literbike is in development and could be announced soon.
998cc bike on the way
According to recent government documents, Kawasaki filed for a Certificate of Conformity (COC) last month, which was approved just before the beginning of September. A COC is issued by the Philippine government as proof that a new vehicle or motorcycle meets the air quality laws.
This COC, filed for a 998cc model, lists a reference mass of 315 kilos. When a standardized rider and pillion weight is factored out, the resulting curb weight is close to 241 kilos. This figure is a match for the supercharged Kawasaki Z H2 SE, a highly anticipated model set to launch in Japan on September 27, 2025.
Like the Ninja 1100SX, which carries the “SE” badge that was launched here in April, the Z H2 SE promises a more souped-up version than the standard Z H2.
The primary difference between the Kawasaki Z H2 and the new Z H2 SE lies in their suspension and braking systems. While both motorcycles are powered by the same 998cc supercharged engine, the standard Z H2 is equipped with conventional, manually adjustable suspension and Brembo calipers.
The Z H2 SE, on the other hand, boasts key upgrades that include the semi-active Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension (KECS) with Showa’s Skyhook technology, which constantly adjusts to road conditions in real time. For superior stopping power, the SE also comes with high-performance Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and a Brembo front master cylinder. These premium components give the SE variant a significant technological advantage over the standard model.
This information should be regarded as speculation, given that official government filings do not reveal complete vehicle specifications. Alternatively, this COC document could be pointing to an updated model of the current Kawasaki ZX-10R, as it is also powered by the same 998cc inline-four engine.
